Where the Desert Blooms into Wine
The story of the Negev Wine Trail is the story of making the desert bloom. Along the roads of the central Negev, a handful of solitary farms (חוות הבודדים) grew from an initiative of the Ramat Negev Regional Council — a vision to build unique agricultural-tourism ventures in one of the driest places on Earth.
Armed with Israeli innovation and drip irrigation, today’s pioneers coax concentrated, high-quality wines from the arid land — connecting modern craft to the ancient Nabataean spice routes that once crossed this same desert.
Carmey Avdat Farm
We begin at Carmey Avdat, one of the original solitary farms on the “Wine Route” — a family’s dream planted in the desert on the ruins of an ancient Nabataean farm.
