A month of the soul

Jerusalem stays awake — and so do we

In the weeks before the High Holy Days, the Old City changes its hours. Synagogues open through the night, alleyways fill with quiet footsteps, and prayers rise from courtyards you would never find on your own.

This is not a sightseeing tour with a night-time slot. It is a single, carefully paced ascent — designed for English-speaking travelers who want to feel the season rather than photograph it.

A great shofar is sounded, and a still small voice is heard.

Frequently asked

Do I need to be religious or know Hebrew?

Not at all. The entire tour is led in English and built for travelers of any background. Prayers and liturgy are explained as we go — you are welcome to join in or simply listen.

How much walking is involved?

About 2 km at a slow pace, with stairs onto the rooftops and up to the dome balcony. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers, and rooftop stones are uneven.

Is the tour suitable for children?

It is best for ages 12 and up given the late hour and the climbs. Families are welcome — tell us the ages when you book and we will advise.

What if I want a private group?

Private departures for families, congregations and small groups can be arranged on any night of the season, subject to rooftop and dome availability.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 72 hours before the tour. Within 72 hours the booking is non-refundable, as our rooftop and dome slots are reserved in advance.
