In Jerusalem, especially during Christmas, the city puts on its festive best, taking on the enchanting look of a European capital. The Old City’s beautiful alleyways are illuminated with colorful lights, and the air is filled with a unique holiday atmosphere.

Join us on a special guided tour of the Christian Quarter:

• We’ll start at the Jaffa Gate, making our way to the New Gate and visiting the Christmas Market.

• At the market, you’ll find a magnificent three-story artificial Christmas tree, illuminated and decorated, alongside stalls selling Christmas sweets, chocolates, pastries, and hot wine.

• We’ll stroll through the decorated, illuminated alleys, learn about the diverse Christian communities in the city (Catholic, Orthodox, etc.), and understand the different traditions, such as the calendar differences (Gregorian vs. Julian) and the meaning of Santa Claus and Christmas trees.

• We will hear historical accounts and folklore tales that vividly illustrate the unique lifestyle of the Christian Quarter.

• A highlight will be visiting the local “Santa Claus” for photos and exploring the churches, including the central Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

• The tour will conclude at the Jaffa Gate and includes a special holiday tasting of a local pastry and a hot beverage.
